About the Author of the Site
Hi — I’m Léa Moreau. I’m a coastal angler, gear enthusiast and lifelong lover of Wales’ rugged shores. I started Fishing In Wales Co. to share the small wins, big lessons and quiet moments that come from chasing fish along this coastline. I write in first person because these pages reflect my own tides: the early mornings, the nights under headlamp, and the maps dog-eared from too many tide tables.
I grew up on the coast of Brittany and moved to Wales over a decade ago, trading one shoreline for another. That change deepened my respect for local tides, species behaviour and the subtle seasonal rhythms that make coastal angling both challenging and endlessly rewarding. My background includes years of shore fishing for bass, cod, pollack and sole, plus regular trips targeting specialist species when they’re in season.
I’m hands-on with tackle and techniques: I test rods, rigs, lines and lures so you don’t have to guess. On this site you’ll find honest tackle reviews, clear how-to guides and practical shore reports based on my outings. I aim to offer advice that’s approachable for beginners but detailed enough for experienced anglers who want to refine their approach.
Local knowledge matters to me. I love compiling spot guides and seasonal tips that help you match your gear and timing to what the water is doing. I also believe in safe and responsible angling — respecting local regulations, handling fish responsibly and leaving the shore cleaner than I found it are core principles I promote consistently.
When I’m not on the bank, I’m researching species behaviour, testing new rigs, or chatting with local anglers and tackle shops to keep this blog grounded in real experience. Expect straightforward, practical writing: rig diagrams, step-by-step techniques, photo-backed reports and seasonal calendars you can use before you head out.
If you’re here to catch more fish, learn the coast, or simply enjoy the stories that come with each tide, you’re in the right place. I’m always up for questions, gear suggestions or trip reports — feel free to reach out through the contact page, or connect with me on the site’s social channels. Tight lines!
